Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Business Support Consultant 4 will be responsible for ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the enterprise Risk Assessment of New Business Initiatives (RANBI) solution on SHRP, the performance of RANBI Admin duties, as well as additional support of the NBI Risk Oversight Program and RANBI solution.

Maintenance and Enhancement of RANBI

Responsibilities within this space include:

  • Internal consultation with the NBI Risk Oversight team, NBI Management as well as NBI stakeholders on matters of significance related to strategic approaches,  desired enhancements, required defect fixes, and integration of NBI with other enterprise risk programs.
  • Maintenance of the master list of defects and enhancements for RANBI.
  • Development and presentation as a consultant to SHRP and technology partners for the prioritization of potential maintenance and enhancement suggestions.
  • Quick action to expedite defect fixes as necessary or determine workaround procedures to avoid impact to the RANBI workflow.
  • Development of user stories that describe specific details of suggested enhancements/defect fixes.
  • Documentation of required BRD’s (Business Requirement Documents)
  • Provide documentation to support NBI Manager in the securing of funding for enhancements/defect fixes
  • Consultation with SHRP and technology partners during the systems configuration of enhancements/defect fixes
  • Development of detailed test scripts that will be executed during user acceptance (UAT) to ensure enhancements and defect fixes are operating as expected
  • Execution of UAT within defined testing timeframes and formal reporting of any new defects identified.
  • Performance of "smoke testing" during SHRP package deployment (Weekend support required for scheduled SHRP package releases)
  • Partnership with other members of the NBI Risk Oversight team to ensure clear and timely communication to stakeholders related to system impacts/enhancements/defects, etc. (SHRP What’s New Document)
  • Partnership with other members of the NBI Risk Oversight team to plan, communicate and execute RANBI Annual Refresh activities.  This task requires partnership with front line, control executives, and independent risk management to solicit, review, and finalize updates required to be made to the RANBI Risk Assessment, development and distribution of the RANBI Bridge Aid, as well as the execution of the annual refresh (all steps noted above).
  • Attendance and participation in Monthly SHRP Owner Forum meetings with all SHRP Solution Owners, Technology and SERM Shared Services to discuss upcoming enhancements and identify dependencies, efficiencies and impacts.

RANBI System Admin Duties

Responsibilities within this space include:

  • Function as a RANBI systems expert, with knowledge of functionality within the solution, workarounds to solve unique challenges, history of program and system changes, risk rating methodology, RANBI workflow, functionality of other SHRP modules utilized within RANBI (challenge and review module) etc.
  • Participation in the monitoring of the NBI Risk Oversight mailbox for any stakeholder question that may require admin responses or action.
  • Researching and addressing stakeholder questions and requests within acceptable timeline (internal team SLA of 24 hours).
  • Making administrative updates within the RANBI solution as needed. (examples: updating risk assessment contacts, returning risk assessments in the workflow for edits, manually adjusting risk ratings following IRM request, processing SHRP delete requests)
  • Knowledge of RANBI UAT functionality to research system workflow and test potential outcomes of edits in the solution.
  • Researching and approving back-end user access to stored RANBI tables and procedures.
  • Monitoring User Access for conflicts.
  • Maintenance of the RANBI Product Inventory.
  • Maintenance and updates to the existing RANBI Notifications Matrix that governs how RANBI systematic notifications are distributed.

Additional Support of the NBI Risk Oversight Team and RANBI Solution

Responsibilities within this space include:

  • Support/data gathering and confirmation for Audit/Regulatory exams and questions.
  • Stakeholder support for the development and execution of RANBI and SHRP reporting.
  • Presentation and participation at NBI Community of Practice, Lunch and Learn, NBIC Working Group, NBI Focus Group, and NBI Business Group Reviewer forums.
  • Effective and frequent communication with the NBI Risk Oversight Team to ensure details of upcoming enhancements and defect fixes are understood and can be consistently communicated to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to NBI Policy and Procedure updates.

Location: Other locations in the Wells Fargo footprint will be considered.



Required Qualifications

  • 8+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively assess stakeholder, partner, or client needs while consulting, building solutions, and developing processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of project management or implementation
  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic planning and execution

  • Knowledge of Wells Fargo’s businesses
  • Ability to work with regulators and auditors
  • Experience in business support or business operations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
