Job Description

As a Recovery Coach, you will encourage, assist and support our members in expressing their perspectives throughout the processes of assessment, service planning, and service delivery. You will create and facilitate a variety of peer group activities that support and strengthen recovery from serious mental illness. Your knowledge base and the contacts you develop in the community will help provide needed resources to our members. You’ll also help prepare young adult members for their critical transition from the children’s system into the adult system of care, taking into account their concerns, culture and level of independence.

Our members will look to you to help combat negative self-talk, overcome fears, solve problems, and articulate, set and accomplish goals. You’ll teach them to advocate for the services they want and/or need. And you’ll help them build social skills that will enhance their chances for employment or meaningful community activities.

You’ll also assist the clinical staff in identifying program environments that are conducive to recovery, lending your unique insights into mental illness and what makes recovery possible.

A complete job description is available upon request.

REQUIREMENTS

Eligible candidates must possess a high school or equivalency diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Must be a prior recipient of Maricopa County behavioral health services, with a least one year in recovery and a peer support certificate.

Knowledge of community based behavioral health services preferred. Must be able to share common experiences with members, regardless of circumstances or severity of members’ disabilities. You must be able to maintain excellent member relationships. You must have effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. The ability to follow direction, use sound judgment, identify priorities and stay organized are essential. Preferred typing skills of 25 to 40 WPM.

Only candidates 21 years of age or older will be considered.

COMPENSATION

This position is offered at a fair, competitive salary. A good benefits package is a valuable part of your total compensation, and we’ve got a great one: medical, dental and vision insurance; paid sick, vacation and holiday time; tuition reimbursement; retirement plan with match; disability insurance; life and AD&D insurance; flexible spending and health savings accounts; an employee assistance program; employee discounts and more. When you consider everything—the salary, the benefits, the ongoing training and support we offer, and the impact you’ll have on the lives of others—it could be the right opportunity for you.

Any offer of employment is contingent upon verification of education, employment, driving record and auto insurance, and completion of a criminal background check and drug testing.

Southwest Network is an equal opportunity employer.
