Job Description


Robert Half Healthcare is looking for a Staff Accountant for a long-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Scottsdale, Arizona region.

How you will make an impact

- Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

- Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision

- Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

- Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation


- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Efficient in ERP systems

- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- High attention to detail

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- GE HealthCare experience
