DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The Service Center Coordinator coordinates human services that are delivered from Tribal programs to
Community residents through each District Service Center. The Service Center Coordinator must be able to
understand and/or speak the Pima or Maricopa language. The Service Center Coordinator is a 24/7 on-call
posmon.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise and participate in daily activities of assigned staff engaged in a variety of community service
activities as necessary.Assist in developing or upgrading district policies and procedures.Attend regular meeting which includes District Community, Resident Board, Executive, etc. to generate clear
and concise reports on community expenditures, progress of community projects and problematic areas on a
scheduled basis. Conduct monthly management meetings with Service Center staff and ensure that in-service
training is provided.Provide continuous supervision and support of Service Center staff and Community workers as well as other
departments when necessary. Provide evaluation, time and attendance reports and other appropriate personnel
actions on assigned staff.Maintain and update a master calendar of scheduled Community activities and monitor Capital Projects within
the district.Prepare and submit annual, semi-annual, operating budgets, and capital budget reports as required to the
Community Services Director.Maintain required records and ?les such an administrative ?les, records of purchase supplies, equipment, and
other Service Center expenses.Maintain a working relationship with other department to assess concerns within the district and overall needs
of the community.Provide appropriate information and referrals service for District residents.Perform other related duties as assigned.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:o Considerable knowledge of modern administrative practices as well as the various programs offered throughthe Community Services Department.Some knowledge of the various human services available on the Gila River Indian Community.Knowledge of the economic, educational and social problems of Native Americans.Ability to understand and/or speak the Pima or Maricopa language.Ability to effectively plan, supervise and coordinate work of others.Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.Ability to execute Emergency Plan including Evacuation Plan to ensure safety of all staff and customerswithin the Service Center.

0 Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position, agree to maintain a Drug-free workplace.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:o Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration,
Recreation Management, Social Services or a closely related field and four (4) years’ experience in the
implementation and coordination of recreational, community center programs and activities, public assistance,
human services, social services or closely related experience and which includes two (2) years supervisory
experience, Or0 Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public
Administration, Recreation Management, Social Services or a closely related ?eld and six (6) years’
experience in the implementation and coordination of recreational, community center programs and activities,
public assistance, human services, social services or closely related experience and which includes three (3)
years supervisory experience, Or0 High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years’ experience in the implementation and coordination of
recreational, community center programs and activities, public assistance, human services, social services or
closely related experience and which includes four (4) years supervisory experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required to obtain a Tribal Driving permit. Valid state driver’s license with a current proof of driving record forthe past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record must be
submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the
application.Required to pass a background check.Supervisory, Salaried Position
