Overview: Join one of the largest, most comprehensive hospitals in metro Phoenix – Banner Desert Medical Center. Serving as a tertiary referral center for the Valley, Banner Desert specializes in high risk pregnancy and neonatal care, gynecology, cardiology, oncology and emergency medicine. It boasts the busiest Emergency Department in the Valley, seeing more than 90,000 patients per year. Banner Desert's Labor and Delivery professionals deliver more than 6,000 babies per year, leading the state in deliveries, and the Banner Desert Cancer Center is currently the leading diagnostic cancer center in Arizona, diagnosing more than 2,000 new cancer cases per year. Clinical Care Operations is the nerve center for Banner Desert Medical Center. The department is responsible for the proper placement, safe transport, and balanced staffing needs for the patients served on this campus; with additional services related to disaster management, contracted employment, house supervision, rapid response nurses, and PICC team. The Director will lead, direct, develop, and implement strategies for Clinical Care Operations. Also, they will shape and interpret standards to improve and ensure quality outcomes, operational effectiveness, clinical excellence, and patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. Develops strategies and growth initiatives that lead to outcomes supportive and synergistic with facility and organizational plans. Actively collaborates with peers across the organization to achieve goals. Accountable for results and involves and is supportive of appropriate staff needed to achieve goals.2. Provides leadership to department and sets quality performance expectations that promote retention, safety, growth, and clinical excellence within and across departments.3. Manages department financial and capital budgets by monitoring operating revenue and expenses. Establishes and maintains cost control measures to ensure alignment to budget. Researches need for future resources and technology based on business patterns and growth.4. Drives change by leading system or facility initiative teams that support strategic plans for growth and development.5. Assures the development of staff leadership through the design of effective shared leadership models and supporting career advancement opportunities. Functions as a role model and encourages staff to participate in their own development.6. Leads the provision of care through the design of care delivery models and by establishing standards of care. Assures quality and safety in patient care practices by involving staff in process improvement and reporting to create best practices for patient care. Continually assess patient satisfaction and improvement opportunities as measured by survey tools.7. Responsible for selection, orientation, on-boarding, and retention. Demonstrates leadership through coaching, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and development opportunities to create a culture of learning.

Skills / Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust possess a strong knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a master's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, or related field.Requires a current RN license in state of practice. Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management as normally demonstrated through 3-5 years of progressive care management experience. Requires demonstrated experience leading and/or managing strategic clinical operations. Requires strong written and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate strong decision-making and critical thinking skills along with the ability to lead change.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAdditional related education and/or experience preferred.
